Hey Margaret, I hear your pain. I lived in West LA
before I moved to T.O. and I long for great little
sushi, Thai, Mexican, Italian bistros and other unique independent
eateries. I feel I'm witnessing the "Orange Countyization"
of Thousand Oaks. Here's the deal: This forum can spawn
some interesting food talk and hopefully help the
small independents from throwing in the towel. We already
lost the best little Italian Restaurant, Viva La Pasta.
They had great food! I am in search of these
wonderful independant restaurants as you are.
Here are my fav's I've been to this month: Enrique's
Mex. Restaurant has the best salsa in town hands down! For
Italian I now go to Baducco's in Westlake.I love the House salad and the
Italian sausages are truly spicy. I still can't find
a really good sushi bar here or a Thai Restaurant.
I too like the Westlake Cafe. Some other good
places:Fin's and Dockside Terrace.
